Commodity Committees

Groupes de travail sur les produits

With over 27,500 horticulture farms in Canada covering close to 1,000,000 total acres of land and producing over $6 billion in annual direct farm cash receipts, there is no doubt that horticulture farming is a valuable sector within Canadian agriculture, that it has a direct positive impact on rural economies across the country, with further positive impacts across industries as a whole. Currently, there are over 120 different horticultural crops grown in Canada – from apples to zucchinis, from British Columbia to Newfoundland.

Due to the size of certain commodity industries, the Canadian Horticultural Council (CHC) has Working Groups that focus on those commodity issues specifically.
